NAME: Ashe (pronounced 'ash')
GENDER: Female
AGE: Just passed her nineteenth nameday, but she's forgotten how old she really is.
AFFILIATION: Exiled
PERSONALITY: Withdrawn, introverted, and intelligent. When speaking to others, she's reluctant to reveal information about herself and can unintentionally (and intentionally) be offensive. Occasionally, she will show signs of being mentally unstable, and rarely, when under extreme pressure, she will burst into a fit of inhuman rage, becoming murderously violent and visibly insane.
LIKES: She has a soft spot for animals, but when forced to hunt, she gives her prey the most painless death possible. Ashe also enjoys the rain, throwing daggers, making weapons, and cooking.
DISLIKES: Ever since childhood, she's disliked talking to people and detests society. Though she likes most other animals, she dislikes insects and spiders.
HISTORY: Ashe's family history is unclear, having been abandoned as an infant on the doorstep of Ai Sathiyandra's hut, a member of the Moon Clan. Ai couldn't think of a name for a child that wasn't hers, so when she was old enough, she let Ashe choose her own name. On her fifth nameday, the youngling named herself Ashe, inspired by the ashes of a fire being used to roast meat. Ai loved her like a daughter, but it was never a secret to Ashe that Ai was her adopted mother. The difference between the two was stark: Ai's hair was snow-white, eyes a beautiful shade of azure, but Ashe's long, red hair often made her a target of insults and jeers--those with the characteristics of Sun Clan members didn't bode well with most Moon Clanners. Surprisingly, she always took the offenses with silence--something that would change in her teenage years.
During her early childhood, she was always quieter than most, never developing any powers like most of the Moon Clan's children her age and smirking at those who tried to show off.
At the age of thirteen, Ashe refused to go with Ai to worship the Moon Goddess, causing her to spend time in prison. Weeks after she was released, Ashe was exiled for torture and murder of a close friend after a disagreement. Ever since then, she's been making a living on her own in the jungles.
FAMILY: Ai was her only known family, but she died from a mysterious illness about a year after Ashe was exiled.
POWERS: No known powers.
WEAPONS: Ashe favors the dagger, but she owns a bow and is trained in archery.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:
Darkness. Quiet. It refreshed her, calmed her down to the soul. The soft rush of the river filled her ears, saturating her body with a serenity she had never felt before discovering this cove of peace. If only she could stay forever...
Crack.
It was subtle, the quietest snap of a twig she had ever heard, but yet she had heard it. Someone was here. Someone had found her. In a heartbeat, the cool tranquility Ashe had savored was replaced by an iron grip of ice, clutching her heart. Could it be Ai? How could she have found her so quickly?
But worrying would do her no good. Carefully, so as not to make the same mistake her intruder had, Ashe rose, conscious of every sound. She heard them now--they were nearing her, she could hear their feet padding softly on the dirt, getting minutely louder every heartbeat. Dare she try to run?
She looked forward, the dark exit of the cave looming before her, seeming infinitely more menacing than when she had arrived. The gray rock walls seemed to close in as her pulse skyrocketed. Get a hold of yourself, Ashe, she thought to herself angrily. Then she heard it again: the rush of the water.
The river. It was her only escape. She had dipped her arm into it once, trying to touch the bottom, but her efforts had been for naught. Was it worth the risk?
Her heart pounded in her chest, and the footsteps magnified in volume. Ashe twisted around and dropped into the rushing water.
The first thing she felt was the cold; the water was ice, and she was fire. The cold burned her skin and she convulsed in discomfort, but eventually, the pain lessened to a tolerable bite. The second thing she noticed was the current: from the moment she hopped in, the water had swept her away, the current so strong that she had to struggle to keep from drowning. She had no control over where she went or what she did; if she tried to grab onto the rock wall, she supposed her fingers would be ripped from her hand, assuming she could travel to the side at all. She was powerless, subject to the river's will, the water churning so violently that it almost pushed her underwater on numerous occasions. If this torture continued for any longer, she'd drown.
After what seemed like years of war against the current, she noticed the water's power ebbing--or were her muscles failing her? But no, she moved through the water more easily, and she began to float more slowly through the water. Finally, the small tunnel she had fought through blossomed out into a gigantic underground hall, a lake filling most of it. On the far shore, the water met stone, forming a miniature shore. Relief filled her heart. She used the last of her strength to swim over to the smooth rock and collapsed onto the beach, her eyes closing immediately.
